RSH ‘Austerity’ No.71515 ‘Mech.Nav Picture Locomotive details- Builder: R. Stephenson & Hawthorn Ltd., Newcastle-on-Tyne. Built: 1945, works no.7169 Wheel Arrangement: 0-6-0ST Wheel diameter: 4’ 3” Boiler Pressure: 170psi. Weight : 48 tons 5 cwt. 71515 was commissioned by the War Department in 1945 from Robert Stevenson and Hawthorns as WD71515, but, with WW2 all but over, was quickly put to work at the Swalwell Disposal Point in what was then the county of Durham, but is now Tyne & Wear.
