ABOUT THE ART
There are few rivers in the world that are as rich with history and heritage than our own mighty Murray River in South Australia. First discovered by European settlers Hamilton H. Hume and William H. Hovell in 1824, it played a vital role in establishing some of the first colonies in this sun burnt landscape, enabling paddle steamers to carry wool, wheat and other staples to sustain a population along its rugged route.
Today, the Murray is a must see for history buffs and those who want to experience a cosy cruise aboard a real side paddle wheeler and you will be on your way with Captain Proud Paddle Boat. Grab an equally passionate partner and you will be in for a three hour river tour and two course lunch aboard the Captain Proud which is only powered by the paddle wheels on either side of the boat.
You will feel the history as you snake along the Murray River and expert commentary from your River Murray Master at the helm will enhance that, sprinkled with ample and humourous anicdotes. You will love cruising along this natural border that separates New South Wales and Victoria and which just happens to be the world’s 16th longest river at 2,530km.
