Dawn Chorusby Polkip
ABOUT THE ART
My submission for the Analog zine.
I chose to look at music and sound from a more organic perspective.
This is a representation of the dawn chorus, an ornithological orchestra of song that takes place as the sun begins to rise during the lighter seasons of spring and summer when the birds have returned from their migration.
I've chosen a selection of British birds for this piece, such as the Tawny Owl, Chaffinch, Song thrush and Warbler.
In particular my home town has it's very own species of Warbler bird that is native only to that area.
The circular composition represents the different levels of the bird song as not all the birds sing at once; they each take their own segment of time for their performance in the morning, therefore each ring is a representation of their individual tune.
