Interesting shot ... do you know the story behind these? I know in Michigan sometimes they do this in the northern parts because of how high the snow gets during some parts of the year. ... the picture reminds me of that movie Monster's Inc. :)

Hi Katherine. I really don't. I was walking around Seoul, Korea shooting photos and looked up to see this. There was no indication that there was a fire escape or anything other than a real long drop if someone went out. The bottom door in this photo was about 3 - 4 floors up. ~ Tony
