ABOUT THE ART
My first product here ;)
Allegory for Fortuna. The model is the wonderful Jade Vixen.
In the 6th century, the Consolation of Philosophy, by statesman and philosopher Boethius, written while he faced execution, reflected the Christian theology of casus, that the apparently random and often ruinous turns of Fortune's Wheel are in fact both inevitable and providential, that even the most coincidental events are part of God's hidden plan which one should not resist or try to change. Fortuna, then, was a servant of God.
I used and changed references from the traditional iconography. In my depiction the capricious Fortuna will give to everyone just one sure handhold, death and our mortality. I set the whole scene in a Titanic's second class refectory, in respect to the Fortuna Marina iconography from the Italian Renaissance.
This painting will be featured in a themed show and then at Pornsaints (http://www.pornsaints.org)
