Are those fish tears? aw.
Heather Goodwind commented on July 2, 2011 1:23pm
Wow, I never thought of them as tears but that is an interesting idea! When I did the drawing I was fish-sitting. I had to feed them frozen peas and they kept lunging for them as they fell but if a new one started to fall near the other eye they'd lunge for that one too, and then next one too and ended up missing them all for having gotten distracted. They were starting to pile up on the bottom of the tank but they only seemed interested in the falling ones. Actually, it reminded me of bit of myself.....

Ha! that is funny... I guess I was projecting ... my beautiful goldfish died last year and I still have dreams about him ... crazy. Lovely piece:)

So sorry to hear about your fish, no wonder you saw tears.

How did I miss this work? Somehow it is both whimsical and deeply sad. For me it captures the essence of eternal captivity. But then again, I could be wrong. Cheers!

Cheers Geoffrey, I really like your interpretation, there certainly is something terribly sad and silly about kept fish (or kept anything for that matter).

Well said.
