ABOUT THE ART

This is also a piece I created last year for the Gallery Show in California. It is a brave experiment I have started and the idea grew as I was creating.

You might not fully recognize what is going on here, but I have used a large collection of vintage and new maps to re-create the world. As you might see with the large countries, I have placed them far away from home sometimes. You can find England in Canada, France in Africa and Thailand in Germany, just to name a few. Some countries can be found in various places, far apart and not where they are supposed to be. (Detail pics on FB: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.522927631097863.1073741826.175949379129025&type=1)

I find this quite interesting because the world as we know it would be so different if any of this was true. But let's be less political and more artistic, I think the combination of the many styles of maps are a great way to display our beautiful and versatile world.

Yes, this is another map, and yes, I might be a little addicted, but as someone who felt the wanderlust before the name became cool, traveling and cultures are one of the most exciting things to me.

So let me take you on a different kind of trip. A trip to a world unknown. NEW ORDER.

This is a fantastic idea! It is amazing how we have our map of the world built within us and seeing the countries in other places is so interesting! Somehow we are plural and similar! Wonderful piece!
