ABOUT THE ART
I can barely remember the night my father took me to see a Turtleship. It was so close, so low, the turtle's black eyes clutching our tiny, tinsel reflection. I was terrified. My father laughed and held me close. "It's okay, Paet," i remember him saying, as the finspan dwindled into the distance and blue dust curled in its wake, "they keep the people of the Sobaloo safe, they patrol the skies so we can live happily in our newls, growing fruit to sell. You will grow up in a land of peace, as long as the Turtleships fly these nights. Pray that they do, pray that there is never a war again."
