Stationery Cards

Vladimir Wood (voodarius)

Stolen Voice

by Vladimir Wood
DESCRIPTION

Set of folded stationery cards printed on bright white, smooth card stock to bring your personal artistic style to everyday correspondence. Each card is blank on the inside and includes a soft white, European fold envelope for mailing.

ABOUT THE ART

I painted this in response of Russian government's permissiveness in parliamentary elections of 2011. Millions voices of ordinary Russians were stolen in attempt to conceal the truth. The metaphor of this work is in every strain hand and every voiceless mouth of Russian people during uninterrupted falling of the Russian Federation.

It's a very interesting piece. Her movement and posture is very beautiful and in doing so draws attention to herself and what she represents, however her expressions seems one of sadness, as if she knows that her display will go unnoticed, even the red ribbons and sashes wrapped around her arms and legs seem only to pull her down further and constrict her; but she is looking onward and upward, so I feel there is an element of hope within this image.
