ABOUT THE ART
This is a digital painting of William Munny at his home, from the film "Unforgiven" (1992), starring Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Gene Hackman, and Richard Harris. It's a great film that everyone should see, even if you aren't a big fan of westerns.
This painting is from the ending, but it opens and closes on images of the main character's house at sunset with some text over it. Here's a quick quote from the beginning of the film, to give a sense of what the main character is like:
She was a comely young woman
and not without prospects.
Therefore it was heartbreaking
to her mother that she would
enter into marriage with
William Munny, a known thief
and murderer, a man of
notoriously vicious and
When she died, it was not at
his hands as her mother might
have expected, but of small pox.
That was 1878.
This image was made using my drawing tablet, and the program Art Rage 3. When you look closely, you can see the specific brush strokes and a realistic look of it being oil painted on canvas. Though I can't say exactly, it would probably look extra great printed on stretched canvas.
