Hello Amy! I really like this one, especially the bird came out great! I love how you play with the background (I like the crossed lines with the differently colored squares). I'm not sure if you want to explore more of the abstract or realistic path. Randi Antonsen, another Society6 artist, does a lot of work with birds and patterened backgrounds. You may like her work, and it may give you ideas on how else to develop your backgrounds. I constantly explore and learn from other artists. I don't mean copying; I mean getting inspiration. In this painting, I could also see the city working great with just your background pattern.
