During 1855, in the small town of Archers Lodge, North Carolina, towns people assume that their farm animals had contracted some type of mass epidemic. Crops were dying during the season, and several family members of prominent purchase had vanished from town.

Many animals such as horses, dogs and cats are being stolen from loving families where they are then ‘traded’ for a monetary profit and subjected to brutal acts for ritual sacrifices. Dr. Richard Strough had come across a small shack on the near Cattail Lake in which dogs and cats were being confined in small cages and exposed to the extremities of 120 degree heat, with only the blood of other animals to drink.

It was strange site where dolls were dressed and adorned with beads, wooden statues of ‘gods’ carefully positioned, handcuffs hung over embedded nailed statues, pots filled with trinkets, seashells and seeds as well as whips made from horse hair and within feet, the carcass of a slaughtered horse was found. Upon rummaging through the shake he found a bowl made of the jaw bones of horses and in it, were a bouquet of flowers. As he picked the bowl from the oak box he felt cold come over him. He assumed it was the feeling of being watched, and headed home to discuss his findings with the judge.
