A toile de jouy scrummy design of my gorgeous Mousehole in Cornwall (pronounced 'mauzall'). A small traditional fishing village with a wonderfully enclosed stone and boulder harbour wall. You can walk along the wall (and even park on some of it) ~ pretty scary if the sea is rough. Mousehole is very near Penzance (of pirate fame) and was actually destroyed back in 1595 by the Spanish, only a local pub survived. Mousehole's ancient name was Porth Enys, the "port of the island" because of the small rocky St Clement's Islet that lies about half a mile from the harbour. A hermit supposedly shone a warning light to boats from it. Mousehole is famous for this wonderful (and beautifully illustrated) story based on the legendary Tom Bawcock ~ The Mousehole Cat (which is why I included the cat!) If you've not read it I'd recommend it ~ though maybe not the stargazey pie, that looks gross.

ooo Pegeen ~ it's where I will live one day! We try and go down there a couple of times every year. It's my favourite place by far!! We went to Port Isaac where Doc Martin is filmed ~ we went to the house! It's on a very very steep hill. Beautiful. Perhaps I'll do a Port Isaac toile too!
