We pressed up the trail for several miles through Plain of Six Glaciers to a mountain tea house we knew wouldn't be open. When we discovered there were still a few beautiful people there serving pie and hot chocolate late in the afternoon, it was a feeling of unmatched exhilaration and encouragement. The tea house is high in the Canadian Rockies above Lake Louise. Hiking to it is the only way to get there, and it is a lovely challenge. With strength restored, we were able to climb back down to the base of the trailhead just as darkness took over.
