Ballycopeland Windmill

by Stephen Maxwell

Stretched Canvas

DESCRIPTION

Fine art print on bright white, fine poly-cotton blend, matte canvas using latest generation Epson archival inks. Individually trimmed and hand stretched museum wrap over 1-1/2" deep wood stretcher bars. Includes wall hanging hardware.

The windmill at Ballycopeland, Millisle, County Down. Restored to full working order, this late-18th century corn mill produced both flour and animal feed. The miller’s house and associated buildings gives a unique insight into a lost industry. Although uncertain it is estimated that Ballycopeland windmill was built around the 1780s or 90s, appearing on the first Ordnance Survey maps of the area in 1830s.

Looks like the part of a space station. Nice capture!
