Interview with Ruben Ireland
Cooper: Born in Amsterdam you currently reside in Worcester. How much longer will this be your home, is there a place you would rather live?

Ireland: I don’t imagine I’ll be here much longer. Since I left London I’ve been moving around quite a bit, first going back to my hometown, then a year in Cyprus and now here in Worcester and I still don’t feel like I’ve found the right place to settle. I really miss London in fact, I’m considering moving back towards the end of the year...

Introducing Rugs on Society6!
We're very excited to expand our home decor selection with the inclusion of Rugs to the line-up of available products.

These awesome new rugs are 100% woven polyester offering an exceptionally soft touch as well as high durability. Available in three sizes (2' x 3', 3' x 5', 4' x 6'), they cleanly feature your designs on a subtle chevron pattern. The rugs are also machine washable on a gentle cycle with mild detergent.

For those of you already selling Laptop Skins on Society6, Rugs have automatically been enabled for your Shop, and they can be adjusted independently of the Laptop Skins file.

Additionally, you may also designate the horizontal or vertical position of the rugs preview based on the dimensions of the file you upload. Simply select a maximum quality JPG (RGB Color) that is exactly 4600px (width) X 3000px (height) for horizontal rugs, or exactly 3000px (width) X 4600px (height) for vertical rugs. The proper position will be enabled automatically. By default, all rugs are positioned horizontally.

To make any necessary adjustments, we encourage you to take a moment to review your Rug product previews. If you need to EDIT them for any reason, just click "ADD T-SHIRTS & MORE" at the top of any post to update the files you'd like to adjust.

Check out the listing page to see all the designs currently available:

We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments and as always we appreciate your support in spreading the word.

S6 Tee submissions must be posted by Thursday, April 3rd
Hey guys, thank you to everyone who applied for the S6 Tee Collaboration! Now that the application is closed, we wanted to take a second to remind those who DID apply that you have SEVEN days left to post your submission for possible inclusion into the Society6 Tee Collection!

Some quick tips and reminders to help you navigate this collaboration:

1. When designing your tee, keep in mind that the file should be 3300px wide x 5100px high and that apparel graphics tend to look better when they are placed toward the top of the tee (closer to the neckline). The file must be uploaded as a transparent PNG. (More info here: )

2. Please use the title of your work as the title of your post AND please use the words "S6 Tee" in the description of your post (even if that is the entire description).

3. You will be notified via email for inclusion in the collection.

Loving all the work that has been submitted so far. We can’t wait to see the rest!
NEW Collaboration: S6 Tees!
Hey guys! I’m excited to introduce myself to you here on the S6 blog.

After being a Society6 member and actively posting art for a few years, I finally weaseled my way onto the raddest team in the world as Senior Designer for Society6. My main focus over here is to make sure your art is presented in the coolest way possible, whether that be here on the blog, in emails, on our homepage or plastered across the worldwide web!

And now that that’s out of the way, I’m thrilled to introduce our next collaboration project:

Design a Society6 branded tee that you’d be proud to rep and never want to take off!

All you have to do is 'apply' for the collaboration, create your Society6 t-shirt contribution (you may create and post more than one design), and post it for sale as an art print and a t-shirt. We'll then curate a tee collection that will be featured in the Society6 Shop and through our various communication channels.

Some things to help you navigate this collaboration:

1. Please click the purple "apply" button for The S6 Tee Collaboration, only if you intend to contribute. You must apply by no later than March 20th to be eligible to participate, and your work completed and posted by April 3rd.

2. This is your chance to create the “must have” tee for artists and Society6 enthusiasts alike! You can reinterpret the Society6 or S6 logotype anyway you can imagine – draw it, paint it, warp it, scrap it and start from scratch – whatever! The tee designs below are just a few examples of the millions of ways you can work it. So put on your creative pants and have fun with this!

3. Please use the title of your work as the title of your post AND please tag your design as “S6 Tee” in the description of your post.

If selected, you will be notified via email, and your designs will be added to a collection where everyone can shop them and rep our awesome community!

Updates to follow. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Introducing Shower Curtains to Society6!
I'm stoked to finally introduce myself. I'm Rory and I have the privilege of serving as Marketing Manager for Society6.

As a team, we spend hundreds of hours reviewing, sampling, testing and tasting (least favorite step) new product ideas for your art. One of the most obvious ways to gauge what comes next is watching what people are buying. And our customers are letting us know, fairly loudly, that they're hungry for more ways to festoon their homes with your work.

Which is why we're very pleased to announce Shower Curtains as the newest arrival to our expanding Living department, for debatably the most important room in any home.

Made from 100% polyester and measuring 71 inches by 74 inches they feature a 12 button-hole top for simple hanging and easy care material which allows for machine wash and dry maintenance. Rod, liner and hooks are not included.

For those of you already selling Throw Pillows and Tote Bags on Society6, with an asset resolution of at least 6000px x 6000px, Shower Curtains have already been enabled for your Shop.

We encourage you to please take a moment to review your new Shower Curtain products. If you need to EDIT these for any reason, just click "ADD T-SHIRTS & MORE" at the top of any post, to update any files you'd like to adjust.

As always, thank you for your continued support and enjoy!
Interview with Max-o-matic
Cooper: Born in Buenos Aires you currently reside in Barcelona. How much longer will this be your home, is there a place you would rather live? Why did you decide to leave Argentina?

Máximo Tuja aka Max-o-matic: Buenos Aires in 2001 was not the most friendly place on earth to live in - social and economic crash, violence and not many opportunities. In that context Barcelona seemed a nice place to start a new adventure.

Since early 2002 I’ve been living here and working as a designer and illustrator in this beautiful city, and I can see myself living here for a long time. I´m not good at making long term plans, so I never know what I will be doing in ten years, but Barcelona right now (and for the last twelve years) is the place in the world that I want to live in...

One & Done Studio to collaborate with Veeka and Society6
We are pleased to announce that One & Done, the Graphic Design and Illustration studio of Lorin Brown, will collaborate with Veeka and Society6 to create a limited edition series of Veeka x Society6 cycling gloves, a graphic tee, a mug and a tote.

Visit One & Done Studios on Society6

Look for the resulting edition to be on sale soon!

Thanks again to everyone for your enthusiasm for the project.

An inspirational statement from Veeka:

As both avid cyclers and designers our team has worked together with various forms to research the intersection between fashion and function. Blending the classic cycle aesthetic of a bygone era with the modern functionality demanded by today’s cyclist allows us to offer a new “classic”.

Interview with Michael C. Hsiung
You grew-up in Chinatown, Los Angeles and currently reside in Los Feliz, right? How much longer will this be your home, is there a place you and your lip foliage would rather be?

Yep, I was born in Chinatown, and grew up in various parts of the San Fernando Valley. After I graduated, I went to college up in San Jose State University and eventually moved back to LA in 2007. Now, I live over in Los Feliz close to the Observatory. It’s a nice area with walkable bars and stuff...
