Prints, Skins or T-shirts which do your fans prefer?
As you know, we've made it super easy for you to make your artwork available for sale as a gallery quality Print.

We're expanding this service to include other product types.

We'd love to know what your thoughts are by helping us rank Prints, Skins (iPhone and Laptop Skins), and T-shirts in order of which you believe your fans would most appreciate being able to purchase your artwork?

I think my fans would want to purchase my artwork first as a Print, then as a T-shirt and finally as a Skin.

Let us know what you think!

Following and Endorsing on Society6
In addition to some other tweaks we are making you may also notice that Subscribe has been changed to Endorse. We've decided to streamline these features a bit. here's the basics. Following has not changed, other than the color of the button you use to Follow or Unfollow. It still adds all the updates from that person to your Society (My Society).

Endorsements are simply a way for you to say you like what that Studio is up to. You are added to the list of Endorsers and vice versa you see the Studios that you've endorsed on your profile page.
Collaborate on Society6
You may notice a few things around here are a bit different. Like all of you we are constantly reworking and looking for ways to improve what we do. So...we've made some adjustments to what you know as our 'Grants'. They've been renamed Collaborations and are accessed under the Collaborate link on the header. These collaborations combine the capability of grants & opportunities with what we have also been hearing from you all through your posts, but in a streamlined and simplified manner. Keep a close eye on this page as new Collaborations are posted and feel free to hit us up with any questions.

Want a print of your own artwork?
We've had a number of people ask us what happens to their profit when they buy their own artwork. Here's the deal.

When you purchase your own artwork your profit is automatically removed from the price, as long as it is your post and you are logged in at the time of purchase. Once you add the item to your cart, you will see that the profit has been removed. Any additional questions please feel free to ask. Enjoy!

Sell your artwork as gallery quality PRINTS on Society6!
Thanks to everyone who helped us beta test the new Product Platform for Society6 and for everyone else who showed so much excitement and patience with it.

We've officially opened up the features for everyone! Now all current and future members of Society6 can sell their artwork as gallery quality prints right here on Society6 just by making a Product Post! Look for the checkbox on the right side of the post page that says "Sell this artwork as a print", then simply upload your high-res file, set your pricing and we'll handle the rest!

We will be adding new products like iPhone and Laptop skins (and more) to the mix so stay tuned. The same artwork you've made available for sale as prints will seamlessly become available as additional products when we add them shortly.

Also, once you have posted your artwork for sale as a print, not only will it show up in the main Shop, the Charts and more, but you will also have a Store within your Studio. Look for the orange Store button on the right side in your Studio. You can use this to point friends and fans directly to all the artwork you have for sale as prints on Society6. here's an example link:

For those of you looking to throw something new on your walls, head on over to the Shop and check it out. We recently dropped our international shipping rates in half since the beta.

Stay tuned for more updates. Thanks again!
A Special Thanks to Michael Cina and YouWorkForThem
In reflecting back on all of the people that have believed in Society6 from the beginning, we'd like to bring some special attention to Michael Cina and the amazing talent over at YouWorkForThem.

When I first spoke to Michael about providing opportunity for some artists (illustrators and typographers specifically) he was "in" without hesitation, and for that please join me in thanking him for his ongoing support of Society6!

I thought I would share a few of the grants that YWFT posted and link you to the recipients interview on the YWFT blog:

The first one goes to Will "Mr. Fancy Pants" Bryant

Here is Will's interview:

And then there is Steven Bonner

Editorial Design Issue: mad about magazines

The magic of magazines
As one of our featured designers, Nicolas Bourquin, puts it: “It’s a hard time for magazines, but a fabulous period for editorial design.” To stave off the threat posed by digitalization, it seems that everyone in the print industry is being motivated to push the boundaries of this discipline to unprecedented heights of creativity. We talk to half a dozen experts in editorial design who are not only managing to survive but producing publications that can stand comparison with any that have come before them – about why they do it and how they see the future of “hard copy”.
