Sell your artwork as gallery quality PRINTS on Society6!
Thanks to everyone who helped us beta test the new Product Platform for Society6 and for everyone else who showed so much excitement and patience with it.

We've officially opened up the features for everyone! Now all current and future members of Society6 can sell their artwork as gallery quality prints right here on Society6 just by making a Product Post! Look for the checkbox on the right side of the post page that says "Sell this artwork as a print", then simply upload your high-res file, set your pricing and we'll handle the rest!

We will be adding new products like iPhone and Laptop skins (and more) to the mix so stay tuned. The same artwork you've made available for sale as prints will seamlessly become available as additional products when we add them shortly.

Also, once you have posted your artwork for sale as a print, not only will it show up in the main Shop, the Charts and more, but you will also have a Store within your Studio. Look for the orange Store button on the right side in your Studio. You can use this to point friends and fans directly to all the artwork you have for sale as prints on Society6. here's an example link:

For those of you looking to throw something new on your walls, head on over to the Shop and check it out. We recently dropped our international shipping rates in half since the beta.

Stay tuned for more updates. Thanks again!
A Special Thanks to Michael Cina and YouWorkForThem
In reflecting back on all of the people that have believed in Society6 from the beginning, we'd like to bring some special attention to Michael Cina and the amazing talent over at YouWorkForThem.

When I first spoke to Michael about providing opportunity for some artists (illustrators and typographers specifically) he was "in" without hesitation, and for that please join me in thanking him for his ongoing support of Society6!

I thought I would share a few of the grants that YWFT posted and link you to the recipients interview on the YWFT blog:

The first one goes to Will "Mr. Fancy Pants" Bryant

Here is Will's interview:

And then there is Steven Bonner

More on Steven here:

Congrats to all of the YWFT recipients and thanks again Michael and YWFT!

A few months ago, we had the pleasure of collaborating with IdN to help them identify an artist for IdN V16N5 the "Editorial Design Issue: mad about magazines", you can see all of the insane talent that participated in the opportunity here

We're pleased to report that the ink is drying and the issue is all set to drop towards the end of October featuring Society6 member Matt Lyon a.k.a. "C86", congrats Matt!

Thanks to IdN, here's a sneak peek at the beauty that lies ahead folks:

Editorial Design Issue: mad about magazines

The magic of magazines
As one of our featured designers, Nicolas Bourquin, puts it: “It’s a hard time for magazines, but a fabulous period for editorial design.” To stave off the threat posed by digitalization, it seems that everyone in the print industry is being motivated to push the boundaries of this discipline to unprecedented heights of creativity. We talk to half a dozen experts in editorial design who are not only managing to survive but producing publications that can stand comparison with any that have come before them – about why they do it and how they see the future of “hard copy”.

Please help Society6 get to SXSW 2010 - We need your help!
Hey everyone, we need your help to secure a spot for Society6 at SXSW in March! We're going to be inviting a few of you to join us, along with as many people as possible that will increase our chances of charming the big wigs over at SXSW into giving Society6 and our friends the stage to share what we're up to.

Our plan is to head on over to Austin and spread the word as far and wide as possible in hopes of bringing home more opportunities for the members of Society6.

So we're counting on each of you to please help us ensure that Society6 gets the visibility that we all need!

If you can only do the minimum to support us here, please simply go to the SXSW panel picker page and please give us both the thumbs up AND drop a comment for the SXSW committee to see that we really are doing something unique to help the world's artists:

And if you really want to show us some love and increase our chances, then please try to give us a Tweet, post on your FB page, your blog, tell your neighbor, or write it on a wall somewhere that we can use all the Thumbs upping that we can get.

Did I mention that we can't do this without your help?

If we get selected, I will personally guarantee you that we will have one hell of a time in Austin and everyone is invited to join us!

Thank you so much everyone for showing your support.

We've added FACEBOOK CONNECT to help you promote your Society6 Posts
Facebook Connect is now available on Society6. If you are an existing member you can link your Society6 account to your Facebook account by clicking the Facebook icon. If you're not yet a member, this makes it even easier to join Society6 and get started.

A couple of places to find the FB icon on S6:
-On the sign-in page
-On the header next to sign in
-On the right side of the post page
-On your settings page

If you haven't used this on other sites you'll find that it's pretty easy. Just click the icon to link your account, log into Facebook (if you're not already logged in) and then authorize the accounts to be linked. Once you complete this process all your Society6 posts will become updates on your Facebook feed. If you haven't yet, also add your Twitter account too so your Posts get updated in both places.

We'll be adding more features using Facebook Connect and Twitter authorization down the road so stay tuned. We know how important it is to reach the audience you've worked so hard to assemble, so we want to make it easy for you to do that all from Society6.
