Maybe we should open a tattoo shop on Soc6?
Maybe we should open a tattoo shop on Soc6?
This brave person wanted my art on their body--and huge, I might add. But I feel badly that the tattoo artist didn't capture it too well. It's large enough that I would have thought the tattoo artist could get a lot of the detail but it didn't work out that way. So I was thinking since the artists on S6 have conquered the illustration world, it's time to expand and open a tattoo shop. We need to save the world from bad tattoos. Ha ha.

That's a good idea! A tattoo shop with good artists.
It is also nearly not as successful as the original, plus it's a different style.

Yeah, the tattoo artist does not reach your talent Rachel ;) Also new product called: "Body Cases" here on Society6 will be great :D

We can sell temp tattoos? Ik not the same! Lol. Your work is unparalleled .
Geoffrey Agrons commented on October 29, 2011 7:37am
Might spontaneously rearrange itself into a semblance of Rachel's original work with time and the ministrations of, you know, GRAVITY. Of course, that's just a theory.

A good tattoo artist would have captured it fine.

But it said inspired not a direct copy so she chose for it to be different it seems.

Your intricate lines and attention to detail are phenomenal, if I was going to get a Rachel Caldwell tattoo (which I definitely would!) I'd spend the money and get it done with the right tattoo artist, but it's great to see someone loves your work so absolutely! It still looks cool if you don't compare it to the original too much :D

I agree with the title, I'd love to see a tattoo section on s6, transfers are a good idea too, not as risky, cheaper and at least then the quality is totally up to us artists. I hope the s6 guys are reading this thread ;)

Thanks, everyone. Temporary tattoos would be so much fun, I think, although real ones even better. Yes, it's all about going to the right tattoo artist, even if you have to wait 6 months for the appointment and pay more. Yep. Kat Von D or Bob Tyrrell would be my choices personally . . .

Looks very cool!

once again sadly you get what you pay for... If they would have somehow transferred you drawing more accurately it would have been perfect.

a tattoo shop would be awesome! funny that you say that because I have a good friend that is a very talented tattoo artist and I just this morning suggested he consider joining this awesome community and making prints of some of his designs. great idea, and this is really cool! a true honor for someone to have chosen your work to be on their body forever.

My god, this is awful.... seems as if the tattooist didn't even bother to look and just made a quick sketch...with needle, ink and SOMEONE'S SKIN.
