The drawing in these pieces was done with a Pilot G-2 pen. The collage is hand cut and assembled with tape. The paint used is latex interior house paint. All of the texture work is either physically drawn, painted or created with ink and a toothbrush. No digital filters were used during the creation of any of #TheAccessoriesSeries works.

I haven't said much about these works because I was waiting to learn what you thought with no information being provided by me. These pieces are based on an almost Duchampian premise, similar to the way he assigned human personal attributes to symbols representing the bride and her bachelors in The Large Glass. Each piece in #TheAccessoriesSeries is a fictitious personality on Pinterest/Wanelo. Each piece tells a story of consumerism, wants, needs, and choices, but I'm the only person that has the key to reading them. I'm referencing the commercial world we all occupy from the consumers perspective (not unlike Warhol, who approached it from the manufacturers perspective), but in an uncommercial way. The subtleties of this creative process are lost on nearly everyone.

... none the less, THANKS so very much for your support! ;-)

Great work Wayne :-)
Wayne Edson Bryan commented on April 5, 2013 2:05pm
Thanks, Deepti and Viviana! ;-) In addition to the layers of the creative process I mentioned above, in #TheAccessoriesSeries there's a layer of meaning in the structural/mathematic choices made with the principal players within the picture plane referencing the role of chance vs human will, and another layer of meaning based on and determined by the context in which the work is seen... in other words, what happens with other artists work at the viewing site in terms of rise and fall in the hierarchy effects the placement of components within my works in progress (just like life). I'm allowing the public's choices to effect factors within my work that have nothing to do with color or content, mostly just placement of predetermined actors on the stage. My framework is the art as much as the physical manifestation that is produced by that framework.
Deepti Munshaw commented on April 5, 2013 8:52pm
Interesting...... you should compile these series into a book, Wayne! Your thought process reflects the intensity & motivation behind every piece, & makes a great read!

Wow! Complex! Such mixed feelings about consumerism! On the one hand, I have a hard time imagining how we could become more consumeristic (I speak of the US here). And yet I didn't see Wanelo coming! So what's next? I would love to live in a simpler, make your own and trade society -- but without all the bigotry of the past.... And, on the other hand, well, I post iPhone covers for a reason! Anyway, once again, you have made thought-provoking work. Well done!
