Thanks so much Deb! :-) After finishing the 5th piece in #TheAccessoriesSeries... which as a result of it having considerably more painting and drawing in it was so much better than a couple of the first four, I decided that I had to rework them. I'm much more pleased with this version. ;-)

Thanks a million, Adam! ;-) FYI: The drawing in these pieces was done with a Pilot G-2 pen. The collage is hand cut and assembled with tape. The paint used is latex interior house paint. All of the texture work is either physically drawn, painted or created with ink and a toothbrush. No digital filters were used during the creation of any of #TheAccessoriesSeries works.

Thank you so very much, Noirblanc and Condor! ;-D I've been working long days and late into the night to get these pieces done, but because they have so many handmade layers the process is still very slow and time consuming. As I complete each piece and discover new methods that yield effects that I'm especially happy with, I feel the need to return to the previously completed works and rework them to get the best possible result and a unifying aesthetic for both each piece and the series.

Unique creation, Wayne...saw a few assessors the past week...they should have worn this T shirt!!! A Hit!
Wayne Edson Bryan commented on March 28, 2013 11:10pm
Thank you, Mari and Phil! ❤ ;-) With this new series, I set out to create a body of work about the commercial and the culture supporting it while remaining paradoxically uncommercial. I'm looking forward to the final step in the creative process... having an art fabrication company print my files on large custom metal panels to make unique, singular pieces, which potentially I can add another layer of direct hand work to. I'm excited about the opportunity to get my new work back into galleries!

I haven't said much about these works because I was waiting to learn what you thought with no information being provided by me. These pieces are based on an almost Duchampian premise, similar to the way he assigned human personal attributes to symbols representing the bride and her bachelors in The Large Glass. Each piece in #TheAccessoriesSeries is a fictitious personality on Pinterest/Wanelo. Each piece tells a story of consumerism, wants, needs, and choices, but I'm the only person that has the key to reading them. I'm referencing the commercial world we all occupy from the consumers perspective (not unlike Warhol, who approached it from the manufacturers perspective), but in an uncommercial way. The subtleties of this creative process are lost on nearly everyone.
None the less, THANKS so very much for your support! ;-)

Eggs Ackley what I concluded, Wayne, but I didn't want to sound presumptuous. Seriously, that's some heavy background. Inspires me to explore and learn more.
