The Death of the Flowers
The Death of the Flowers
The following series of illustration is dedicated to my classmate who committed suicide on 28th April, 2010. She was only 18. Melissa's passing has affected everyone of us in one way or another. As a lover, as a friend, as an acquaintance, or even as a stranger - she has definitely changed our lives.

These drawings explore the meaning of fragility in life and the elegance of death, with references to porcelain and wild flowers. It also symbolises how we're all born to be damaged, and how we're all struggling to survive: in immense beauty.

This is for you, Melissa. Rest in peace.
