About The Artist

After retiring from teaching art full-time for 33 years, Essex decided to freelance in the areas he knows and finds fun. Consequently he worked as an adjunct professor of Art Appreciation at a university in Indianapolis, Indiana, accepts commissions for artwork and caricatures, does caricaturing at special events and even plays bagpipes at special events, weddings, memorials and funerals. This format is simply another fun art venture for Essex as he continues to live the beatnik artists life for which he was born. ;-)
