Lisa Gabel
About The Artist
Lisa Gabel was raised on farms in Williamston, Michigan where she cultivated a love for art at a very young age. Whether it was creating a chariot with her sisters from an old swing set and bailing twine, building forts with sticks, or making gifts from thistles and bark, she found joy in creating objects and beautiful things. Her artistic explorations led her to studying industrial design at Michigan State University, and eventually a career designing print and woven fabric. Some of the collections she designed for include Athleta, Tommy Bahama, Jerry Garcia, BCBG, Sean John, Alynn, Henry Jacobson, The Miracle Collection, Nature Conservancy, Kenneth Cole, Claiborne and Journeys. Since 2008, Lisa has been an independent contractor specializing in custom design work for a variety of applications including print/pattern design for Athleta womenswear, necktie design for Wild Attire, surface design for Rockflowerpaper home furnishings, and has developed two distinct lines for her own brand. Her designs represent the culmination of her creative explorations thus far, and call on her skills as a painter, designer, cartoonist and computer artist. She resides in beautiful Marin County California with her amazing husband and their two pets.
