About Alexandra Bastien

A native of Repentigny, Qc, Canada, Alexandra Bastien has had a passion for the visual arts from an early age. Her fascination for drawing and for the representation of the human body is the main source of her inspiration and creativity. Regular participation in exhibitions and competitions outside of Quebec, including Toronto, London, Paris, Bristol, Cambridge, Nuneaton, New York, Albuquerque, Los Angeles, Covington and Chantenay, has given Alexandra opportunity to broaden her horizons and to interact with other artists. In the past year, she was the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the UKCPS prizes Ann James Massey Award for excellence in drawing, Faber Castell Award for Best of Show and the Derwent award for best human interest. Since the launching of her latest exhibition, 'Taming the Beast', Alexandra's work can be found in several publications including the book Colored Pencil Treasures: colored pencil masterworks from around the world, The Southwest Art Magazine, The Artist's Magazine and the Art Renewal Exhibition catalog 2012. The artist is a Signature member of the CPSA, a Silver Signature member of the UKCPS. She is an honorary member of IGOR and IAF. Also, she is the president and one of the founding member of the Pencil art Society.
