Alexis Anne Marino

Born and raised in New York, I have been practicing art since I could properly hold a pencil and I was always known to 'draw well' by my friends. I went to art school to better hone my skills in Illustration and learned a great deal of things. Unfortunately, turning Illustration into a career was very difficult and I couldn't survive. I quickly took on a day job to begin my adult life and turning art into a career was put regretfully on the back burner. Fast-forward to now: I create art almost every day. I think about art on the subway to and from work. I think about art while I'm at work. I talk about art incessantly and I'm always thinking of my next piece. Art purely serves as a mode of therapy, rebellion and pushing myself to a higher/more professional level. Art is not only a form of expression, but for me, it has transformed my life and how I see the world around me. I would never have considered myself a fine artist since I felt I lacked the courage or the self-awareness it takes. But now I feel very differently and I truly hope you enjoy my work, gentle viewer!
