My work is about the visualization of randomness. I create my designs using a deck of playing cards to generate numbers, which correspond to spaces on a grid. The only decisions that I actively make relate to color palette and origin shapes. I am fascinated by the different results that are produced by the same set of parameters. I also find the process of surrendering control to be somewhat therapeutic, and a nice contrast to daily life, in which we are faced with an almost constant stream of options and choices. I am from the Boston area. I recently completed an MA in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. My concentrations were digital print and digital embroidery.
