amoramarillo

As a woman of the contemporary culture I ask my self why the obsessive-compulsive behaviors that surround our gender, and I assume my artistic practice from the self-referential experience. The proposal Dis-illusions of My Self was born on a series of reflections about being a woman, based on every day life and sharing observations and concerns regarding my body, perfection, age, maternity, home, as well as feelings like love and love-lessness, that interlace with notes about personal experiences, daily acts and traces of my memory. The body is a common place were we engrave and keep our perceptions; a need of using a self-portrait emerges, where photography and performance are the vehicle to talk about an inner self reflected outside. I talk about a human condition that shows its fragility and strength simultaneously, and explore the vulnerability of the body to reveal the poetic feeling. amoramarillo joined Society6 on February 4, 2014
