I was born in San Diego, CA. My childhood was spent living in the Bay Area, Hawaii, the East Coast, and the Pacific Northwest. I received a BA in Art with an Emphasis in Painting and Printmaking, minor in Italian, from San Diego State University. While at SDSU I participated in a year-long study abroad program in Florence, Italy, attending the Italian life drawing school, Scuola Libera del Nudo all’ Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. I am a painter and photographer, and have shown my work throughout San Diego and Florence, Italy. I specialize in portrait, landscape and abstract paintings and wedding, portrait and landscape photography. I am also an independent graphic designer and love to combine all of these elements into my mixed media pieces.
ABOUT MY WORK: My work tends to focus on places I have been, food I love to eat, and creatures that I know. My paintings consist of exploring texture and releasing loose brush strokes. My landscapes are deconstructed and reassembled to reveal worlds underneath and blurred memories on the textured surface. I enjoy the process of examining and creating portraits of people and dogs and the uncharted and intimate journey that happens within each piece. You can find all of my work at: www.annawoerman.com
