I work with collage, photography and sculpture to explore society’s fetishistic relationship with nature and our proclivity to equate nature with consumption, leisure and capital. Through the use of text and surrealistic imagery I exploit photography’s ability to mimic ownership, examining the mechanics of luxury, escapism, desire and ambivalence. Stunning postcard landscapes are collaged over with various luxury items from high-end interior design magazines to highlight the aesthetic quality and empty objectivity.
