Becca Hawk is a writer and illustrator based out of Michigan and Arkansas (yes, both). She uses watercolor and pens to create whimsical illustrations, often supplemented by quips she finds quite entertaining (and hopes you do, too).
Her focus is on everyday objects that tell stories: the hat her sister wore in an old home movie, muddy overalls that really everyone should wear from time to time, a bathtub that really wants to be a sailboat (dedicated to her lifelong friend and sailor who is now in the Navy). The objects stories become her stories, and sometimes gives them words, too.
She also writes poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, but that's a different STORY entirely (let the puns begin). And she keeps a 1955 military practice bomb in her living room, so there's that.
