My design process is research heavy. I pull from historical periods, but always include modern elements so it resonates more with the audience. I call this “abstract era” or “smashed period” because my designs visually represent ideas and stories from different time periods that are contextually relevant today. History continuously cycles through views on politics, aesthetics, art, society, fashion and architecture. At particular points, the ideas of one era line up with those of another. Drawing attention to these similarities creates a dialogue that may not have been there before. It allows one to question the world, their reality, and reevaluate it in a different light.
