“Star Wars has always held great significance for my household, and now, seeing my nephews fall in love with the stories and join in the adventure, it’s easy to appreciate the timelessness of these worlds. I celebrated The Mandalorian’s second season launch with an ode to my favorite character, The Child, as well as a nod to who, in my opinion, is the most hilarious human on the planet. Amy Sedaris rules, and her role as Peli Motto is simply perfect.”
Lo Harris is a Brooklyn-based digital artist who specializes in illustration and motion design. Through her bright palettes and relational compositions, Lo creates work that champions vibrance, confidence, and joy. She enjoys playing up distinct characterizations in her character designs. With this in mind, she found Cara Dune and The Child to be an interesting challenge to her typical interests as an artist. Cara is a strong and hardened warrior—Lo wanted to re-imagine Cara in her friendly and vibrant art style while still honoring her sense of strength, stature, and integrity as a mercenary and rebel. The Child was a fun departure from Lo’s typical subjects, and she had lots of fun abstracting the most distinguished features of the child into smooth shapes, blobs and lines.
“The sheer cuteness of The Child is the primary inspiration behind both my pieces. And I wanted to pay homage to the (unexpected) parental role the Mandalorian finds himself in. Cuteness is possibly the greatest force power.”
"When I was deciding which scene or character to portray, I very quickly settled on this scene. As a diehard fan of The Real Housewives, I felt an inherent connection to this scene of The Child contentedly watching others fight while enjoying a nice little meal. So I tried to recreate the scene in a way that is somewhat realistic but with some stylization as well. I've loved getting to do artwork for Disney, but this is the first time I've drawn anything in the Star Wars universe so this was very exciting!"

“Some of my favorite memories are going with my siblings and our dad to see Star Wars in theaters. I have seen all of the movies since then in theaters and I watch The Mandalorian every week! I was inspired by the scenery and landscapes in the show. The sunsets and sky in the Star Wars universe are incredible backdrops for the characters. My favorite character is the Child so I couldn’t resist creating a few pieces to highlight his adorable personality.”
“For this project I was inspired by the sheer diversity of the Star Wars fan base and all of the different people that it has impacted over the decades. The whole universe has become such a staple in our pop culture and has truly shaped how we imagine life in space. Personally, I recall watching and being fascinated by the films as a child, and later discovering the true artistry of the sets and character designs as I dove deeper into my creative career.”
"I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. My friend's dad introduced us to the original trilogy, and then we saw all the prequels in theaters while growing up. As an adult I've enjoyed the new trilogy as well as the additional Star Wars Stories, particularly The Mandolorian. I really enjoy the family dynamic built between the characters, the storytelling is so good as well! My favorite Star Wars merch pieces have always been the retro designs, and so I’ve tried to reflect that in my work here. I also wanted to lend my own personal style to the Star Wars universe, which includes clean lines, bold colors, and cheerful starry accents."
“As a kid, the original Star Wars films were essential in fueling my imagination and my love of drawing. There are so many stories set in the Star Wars universe that I dreamt up as a kid, and watching The Mandalorian is like watching one of those adventures come to life.”
