Dalal Farah Baird

“Creating a piece of art is not unlike meditation for me. I usually start with an idea and hardly with a sketch. I let the brush move freely over the canvas to communicate my emotions.” Dalal’s belief system, which she expresses in writing, is also reflected in her paintings. Her artwork is inspired by the human cells seen under an electron microscope and are an invitation for anyone and everyone to view cells from the artist's unique perspective. Her term: “How are your cells today?” is to draw on the fact that our thoughts affect our cells and in turn our health and well-being. There is a whole universe within and the important facts about our cells should not be left to the scientists alone. Dalal has travelled extensively and has participated in solo as well as collective exhibitions here in Lebanon and in Australia. Her latest solo exhibition “Cell-ebrating Resilience” was about dealing with the loss of her daughter Nadia and it took place at the Exode Gallery in Lebanon. To her, we are first spirit that takes the shape of a body and once we fully understand our true nature and accept this truth, our outlook on life changes dramatically. “I am a tiny little particle on God’s exquisite canvas. I don’t need to learn. I only need to unlearn and remember.” Dalal Farah Baird Dalal Farah Baird joined Society6 on March 4, 2015
