David Burles

Artist and creator. Skills in digital illustration; creations, portraits and designs. Contact davidburles@bigpond.com for commission work and general enquiries. I can paint in both acrylic and oils. I will do requests at a reasonable price. I will not say I’m self taught. My father is an excellent realist painter and I did my first oil work at the age of 9. I studied Visual Arts right through my senior education. Originally, I specialised in landscapes. Eventually I began taking on portraits and general experimentation. I like try out different methods and I try and steer clear of cubism and extreme abstract work. A couple of years ago, I learnt how to paint and draw digitally. Since then, I have been involved in many digital art communities and I’m also an administrator of some of the most elite digital art groups including @teamdli. I have had my work featured on numerous apps and web pages. I have had some of my works featured on BBC’s Victory TV’s Celebrity Draw it program. I have also been involved in digital art exhibitions in Salt Lake City which featured on the NBC. In some of the digital art communities I have as many as 150k followers. If I were to name my style, I’d say I lean towards realism but I enjoy some fantasy surrealistic works. All of my work is hand drawn. I mix my own colours and never digitally sample. I have never traced an object. Most of my work has statistical evidence of creation and I have made tutorial videos for certain pieces I’ve created. What I make is my interpretation. I like to add a little individual stamp. The little smiley some people see is my art creator signature representing my initials DJB. I am a passionate artist. I enjoy a challenge and I’m not afraid to take anything on. David Burles joined Society6 on January 5, 2014
