Lauren Preller has over 18 years as a professional photographer. The recipient of multiple national awards, she has also been published in major periodicals. A self taught artist, her photography has evolved with the digital age into a new art form of photography and mixed media of acrylic and metallic paints.
Preller collaborates with architects and interior designers to create “Site-Specific art. She designs art for the space The work is not merely decorative, but relates to the space in purpose and design. A recent example can be found at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Cochlear Ear Center lobby. Preller created two 8 foot canvas panels of visual imagery of sounds one would hear after a cochlear implant. The work includes sound waves, musical notes, birds, etc..
