Barney is a people Eater
Barney is a people Eater
This is an older piece I gradually built up, the purples I used in this reminded me of Barney, and then I thought about purple and thought about the song "One eyed, one horned, flying purple people eater" both of these things come from my childhood and were pretty vivid memories for me, staying home sick, watching Barney and eating scrambled eggs out of my favorite Minnie Mouse umbrella, and singing this song with my mom. Now I think about the effect these memories had on me, who I am as a person now, how we hold on to these things, how our memories and the things we learned in childhood are a lot of ways demolished or seen through more clearly when we grow up.

your shading and attention to detail are always very pretty and complex. your anatomy is always a tiny bit wonky though.

Thank you, yeah I'm still working out all the anatomical details of my pieces, but I want them to look slightly off. I'm definitely still learning and practicing every day, though I am pleased with the slight imperfections. I guess I try to avoid my women looking too divine and precise. does that make sense? haha.

Your work is wonderful and imaginative, I have no constructive crit, I just like to look at it. SWEET. :)

I like the imperfections and anatomy being off. It gives you a unique style.
