Logan Salter

On paper, Salter works primarily in black and white, creating images with bold visual contrast; but the message of his art also comes with an intriguing contrast. It is often satirical, but also somehow eerily moving. Wit, irony, whimsy, and a bit of raunch all come together seamlessly, evoking a multitude of raw emotions in the viewer. This aesthetic is fluent in all of the medias and mixed-medias Salter chooses to work with. There has been a fluctuation of feminine energy throughout his work since day one, when he first began to draw. There is a repetition of images, almost acting like code, that travels from each project to the next. There is a symbiotic energy that you can understand when you see his pieces.
