I am an artist who specializes in oils on board or canvas, focusing on portraits, landscapes, and still lives. I like a neutral, peaceful color palette that evokes a sense of calm, but I also enjoy using color to emphasize a focal point in my paintings. While I often lay thick paint on my canvases with a palette knife to better express emotion, impulsivity, and movement; I also love to use brushes to lay down color. My creative process seeks to use paint as a way of sharing joy and light with others. I have been drawn to art my whole life, expressing my creativity in paint, pottery, jewelry making, sewing, interior decorating and photography. My time is happily spent with my husband and four children, with friends, or serving in my church. I also love going to the beach, and dream of retiring in an old chateau in the French countryside where I can paint landscapes and horizons to my heart's content. I have battled Lupus for the past 5 years, and have appreciated the lessons it has taught me. I have developed an appreciation of the simple things in life; every day is a gift to be treasured.
