Melissa J.

Thank you for visiting my page! I'm not a photographer; that's right -- I am not a trained photographer with a fancy, expensive camera. I am a creative person (writer and teacher actually) with a good eye and appreciation for beautiful and unique people, places and things. I notice the 'small' beauties in our world and in life that a lot of people seem to miss until I point it out (or take a picture of it). So you're probably wanting to know what sort of camera device I use -- simply my Galaxy camera phone. Sure it's a handy little device, but the pictures catch your eye and appeal to you because I know how to capture the image. Here's a little bit of my background: I grew up on cattle ranches in Wyoming and Colorado. I was the first in my family to go to college and I even earned a Master's degree (yahoo for college debt!;) ... but it is something I'm pretty darn proud of. I traveled abroad (solo!) for the first time when I was 32; I lived in Italy (Tuscany) for 3 months. I mentioned I'm a teacher and a writer; allow me to be more specific -- a part-time TEFL teacher (we don't do it for the money) and an aspiring (meaning that it will pay some bills:) writer. I just finished my first memoir about my dad -- it's titled 'Cowboy Dad'. So, basically, several people suggested that while I am a 'struggling' part-time teacher/aspiring writer, that I should sell my images. So here I am. My images come from every day scenes and from my various road trips and adventures. I hope you enjoy looking at them! If you have any questions about where I took them, please feel free to send me a message! Melissa J. joined Society6 on August 10, 2014
