Mountain Found

The intent of my work is to explore the fragile but deep connection humans have with their own wildness, simplicity, strength, and solitude. Many years ago, I picked up a camera to record my daily life on a remote off-the-grid research center; chopping wood, growing food, wandering the wilderness, running the mountains, and watching horses. While roaming the backcountry looking for images, I also found feathers, antlers, bones, rusty metal, brass bullet shells, and a WHOLE lot of inspiration. I began to craft art from the natural and discarded materials I collected, all the while photographing what I saw and found. Mountain Found Designs was born. Most of the materials in my jewelry are either wild-gathered, or purchased/found locally. I recycle materials when possible; use only local southwest turquoise; and hand-craft each item with care and love in my home studio. Most of my photographs are captured with vintage, medium-format or large-format film cameras. Thanks you for your interest! Be Brave. Love a Wild Place. Roam Far!
