Mighty Fine Art

I am a British artist and writer, working full time from my small studio on the Suffolk coast where I live with my long term partner Jenny and a couple of big dogs. It sounds idyllic, but wasn't always so. Born in the fifties I left home at seventeen and soon found myself serving in the British army where I spent my formative years. Since then I have led an interesting life during which I've worked at many diverse occupations. From computer analyst to milkman, college tutor to lorry driver, throughout it all there was always a thread of creativity running in the background, sadly suppressed for long periods. However occasional opportunities presented themselves. In my spare time I became a freelance cartoonist and also worked for a spell as feature artist on the Hertfordshire Life magazine. In 2005 I upped sticks and moved to the east coast and since then I feel privileged and grateful to have been able to make my living full time from something I enjoy and love so much. Becoming an artist has been a dream come true and I am also finding time to work on my third book too. I specialise in lively watercolours, intricately detailed pencil drawings alongside dramatic pastel or coloured pencil work. I like to think that my craving for detail and realism serves to capture the very soul of my subjects, bringing them to life for their new owners to enjoy forever. The ideas and subject matter I utilise for my art as well as my writing, are born from a passion for wildlife, both British and the more exotic, combined with scenes inspired by people and places that have influenced me throughout my life. You can view all of my available original work on my personal web site at www.mightyfineart.co.uk. Mighty Fine Art joined Society6 on June 10, 2016
