ABOUT THE ART
This print is one half of a diptych abstract of the 2011 Philadelphia Phillies season. It's priced low to encourage buying both parts.
Each rectangle represents one game. It's color is determined by combining the two teams' colors by the runs they scored in the game (so the more red, the more the Phils won). The width is determined by the total runs scored in the game.
While 2011 didn't fulfill the World Series dream of Phils fans, it was a wonderfully memorable season. With 102 wins, they broke the Phillies record for wins in a season, and they allowed Charlie Manuel to pass Gene Mauch as the all-time winningest Phillies manager.
World Series or not, this season brought:
*The 21 inning Wilson Valdez game
*Cliff Lee hits as important as pitches and the "ah forget it" gif
*The debut of the Vance Party
*"Good game. Let's go eat!"
*The Chooch SI cover and article
*Everything said by Charlie Manuel
*Madson becoming a dominant closer
*Kendrick becoming a reliable starter
*Shane in MVP discussion for most of the season
*The return of Kashmir
And so much more. This was a great season worth commemorating, and this print helps tell the tale.
