ABOUT THE ART
I am not aware of the title for this painting but it was on display at The Brambuk Culture Centre in Hall's Gap, Victoria, Australia.
I am a very keen supporter of our Aborignal culture & history, after all it is rightly their land!
The Brambuk Culture Centre features the Aboriginal legend of Tchingal the giant emu and Waa the crow and the formation of the Grampians/Gariwerd mountains.
Gariwerd (The Grampians) a `Cultural Landscape’ illustrates the geology, flora and fauna, Aboriginal and European. It also displays many books & brochures on our Indigenous history prior to white man settlement.
Aboriginal art is unique to our heritage, their culture shown in paintings, rock art, on didgeridoos (also known as a didjeridu or didge), boomerangs, pottery and body painting adds so much meaning to our Indigenous culture and history.
The meaning of Brambuk is the “white cockatoo”.
