ABOUT THE ART

"When the morning came, the bees flew down and wrapped themselves around me,
And that's when I spoke the word, to have them trace your face for me in pollen."
- Eisley.

Totally inspired by springtime in Australia, and when I stumbled over this old sketch I couldn't NOT post it! I can't believe this has been hiding in my moleskin for over a year- untouched and unloved. That's no good... I remember being really inspired by Lindsey Wixson, Charlotte Free and Abbey Lee at the time that I drew this. To add a splash of colour, of course I made the hair pink... Because everyone knows the ladies with the best hair are the ones with pink hair (personal opinion of course)! My all time favourite model is Audrey Kitching, and has been for more than five years, favourite female musician has to be Sherri Dupree-Bemis, another pink haired boss lady! The reasons my hair is magenta and has been on-and-off for almost six years! Anyway, I should stop rambling...

Point is, I wanted to do a beautiful pink haired modelesque lady with a lovely springtime setting- lots of tiny flowers and butterflies to boot. I think I succeeded!
