About this artwork
Right after death, birds seem to linger closer than usual. My mind, already consumed by the loss of a loved one, can’t help but connect the two, connecting spirits and birds," I’m sure of it, I’m sure it’s true! Somehow...”...Maybe it’s because birds are as free as it can get, with fluttering wings they’re off, flying high in to the sunny blue sky. Spirits hop to their side, going around, visiting who they left behind checking up on them one last time before moving on.
Right after death appears a window into limbo, between here and after, an encounter with a world that feels both real and imaginary all at the same time. Right after death, I now wait impatiently for that bird" please oh please, just for a second" until it shows up, and for just a moment, it suddenly doesn't hurt as much.
Death; is the end of anything .. not just life, but relationship and friendship. ..
Birds: represents the concept of free, letting go or going away.
Spirits; the in-between, what holds them together. What holds the end and it going away.
this piece Discusses grief.
Discussing mental suffering; something that makes us feel so alone, isolated, so hard to explain forgetting that we have all suffered some kind of a loss, that we are all the same, convincing one’s self that no one can understand because my loss was greater than others, it was much more unique, but the only thing that makes it unique is that it is your own.
