About this artwork
Set in a beautiful landscape a circular limestone windmill with arches at its base, a grade 1 listed building, situated at Chesterton, South-East Warwickshire. Built in 1632-3 for Sir Edward Peyto and was a working mill until 1910. It contains wooden machinery including a lantern pinion and two pairs of millstones. Restored in 1971, it the earliest tower mill in England to retain any of its working parts.
