ABOUT THE ART
To celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival we have a special release print. This one is inspired by the full moon which will appear tonight and the colour of Chinese Moon Cakes, which everyone will be eating.
After living in China for the last three years, and specifically Hong Kong, I've eaten my fair share of Moon Cakes. Whether you like the taste or you don't its a special tradition for the region.
The Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival happens annually on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. The festival dates back over 3,000 years when the Emperor and people of China would worship the Moon in the hope of successful harvests.
This print has been carefully digitally hand-drawn over a number of days, point by point, triangle by triangle, in celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and Moon Cakes.
