ABOUT THE ART
I spent 6 weeks in various allotments in England studying the fascinating structures that gardeners create out of everyday objects. The most drawn allotment was in Bucklands Hill in Maidstone, Kent.
This is the third of a series of three, a possible triptych, but i feel work well as individual prints as well. It shows the Cover aspect of the title, the hodge-podge shelters that the gardeners have scrapped together to make either somewhere to keep dry when the summer rains make an appearance, or just sit and listen to the radio to get away from it all. Although, most of them i found were used for practical uses. They had perspex, glass or clear plastic fabric sections to act as a greenhouse.
