ABOUT THE ART
This is part of my ongoing series "Lost Zoo" about the recently extinct animals. Here I depcit the Honshu Wolf, native to the Kyushu region in Japan that was also known as Dog of the Mountain. The last known Honshu wolf was shot in 1905, but there had been reports of sightings since then. It is said by some people that the Honshu wolf isn't extinct, but very good in hiding in the wilderness of the Japanese mountains.
The Honshu wolf was due to possible island dwarfism the tiniest known wolf subspecies.
